Plans mega rally in Lagos for Oodua RepublicA SOUTH-WEST socio-political group, Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, has cautioned indigenes of the South, especially in the South-West to be extremely careful about their travel plan to the northern region because of escalating state of insecurity in the North. xIN a separate development, a separatist organisation seeking self-determination for Yoruba Nation, the Ilana Omo Oodua, has finalised arrangements to hold a mega rally in Lagos State on July 3, 2021 to further its agitation for the secession of Oodua Republic from Nigeria. In a statement, yesterday, the General Secretary, George Akinola, promised that the rally would be peaceful and co-ordinated. BUT when contacted, Spokesman of Lagos Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, said he was not aware if the group had applied for permission to hold rally in the state on July 3. HOWEVER, Chairman, Afenifere Renewal Group, Mr. Wale Oshun, urged the police to grant the group necessary protection during the rally, saying, it is their rights to be protected by the police.
